2m 01s: NIO EP9 Breaks Production Car Lap Record at Shanghai International Circuit

March, 16 – The NIO EP9 set a new record for a production vehicle at the Shanghai International Circuit, achieving a lap time of 2m 01s (two minutes, 01 seconds).
 
The record was achieved by Formula E driver Oliver Turvey. The new record is 24 seconds faster than the previous one set by the Mercedes SLS AMG. 
 
The EP9, the world’s fastest electric car, is 3G enabled and delivers 1-MegaWatt of power, equivalent to 1,360PS. The EP9 accelerates from 0-200kph in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 313kph. The EP9 previously set a number of records at other world-renowned  race tracks.
