Battery-as-a-Service and NIO Power Swap
With the battery subscription Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and the battery swap technology at our NIO Power Swap Stations (PSS), we are redefining the standards in the industry. In addition to conventional charging, BaaS users can also swap an almost empty battery for a 90% charged one fully automatically at our PSS in just a few minutes. This means that longer journeys can be made without conventional charging stops and the battery is always up to date and tested with regard to all safety aspects.
Banyan
Banyan is NIO's intelligent vehicle system that enables all smart functions. By using SOTA (Software Over-the-Air) and FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air) updates, your NIO will always be up to date. SOTA updates are comparable to app updates on your smartphone. In contrast, FOTA updates are more complex and update all connected functions of the system architecture, from assisted driving to navigation, seat heating and battery management.

The NIO ET7, ET5, ET5 Touring and EL6 have been awarded the coveted 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. This underlines the high safety standard that we guarantee with a high-strength chassis, a comprehensive airbag system and numerous safety and driver assistance functions. An intelligent driving sensor system with high-resolution LiDAR and long range detects potential hazards at an early stage and helps to make the driving experience even safer.
