NIO Becomes the First in China to be Granted UN R155 Cybersecurity Management System Certification

Recently, NIO was certified under UN Regulation No. 155 (UN-R155) on the cybersecurity management system (CSMS), becoming the first company in China and one of the first in the world to be certified as compliant with the regulation.   Cyber security is fundamental to the smart EV user experience. Since its commencement, NIO has been dedicated to safeguarding vehicle cybersecurity by establishing technology teams in China, the US and Germany, and industry-leading R&D capabilities for security.  UN-R155 is the first global mandatory regulation regarding vehicle cybersecurity, widely applicable in countries and regions like the EU, the UK, Japan, and South Korea. Obtaining this certification shows that NIO possesses the capabilities of vehicle cybersecurity management, data security assurance, secure development and testing, threat response, etc.  Dr. Shen Feng, Executive Vice President of NIO and Chairman of the Quality Committee, mentioned: "Thanks to the construction of the infostructure, NIO provides a high level of safety for a management system for road vehicles and related products and respond rapidly and effectively, when users or the related products may face network security threats, to help our users reduce risks.
