NIO’s Small Car Brand firefly Starts RHD Production as Global Expansion Accelerates

November 18, 2025, Shanghai, China - NIO’s high-end small car brand firefly started mass production of its right-hand drive (RHD) model, with the first units headed for Singapore. This marks a major step forward in firefly’s global expansion, paving the way for entry into more international markets.

Since its launch on April 19, firefly has kept up an impressive pace in global rollout. It achieved its first European deliveries in less than four months, setting a new record for NIO’s overseas market expansion. The model is now available in the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium, with test drives and deliveries soon to begin in Denmark, Greece, Austria, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
